About Splitting PDFs

Splitting a large PDF into smaller, separate files can make it much more manageable. You can extract just the pages you need, separate chapters of a book, or break up a large report into sections for different teams. Our tool offers two flexible methods for this:

Split All Pages

This is the quickest way to get every page as its own PDF. If you have a 10-page document, you will get 10 separate PDF files, each containing one page.

Split by Range

This powerful option gives you full control. You can specify exact pages and ranges to be grouped into new PDFs. For example, entering '1-2, 5, 8-10' will create three new files: one with pages 1-2, one with just page 5, and one with pages 8-10.

Frequently Asked Questions

What format should I use for page ranges?

Use commas to separate pages or ranges. Use a hyphen to define a range. For example: '1, 3, 5-7'.

What happens if I enter overlapping ranges?

The tool will process the ranges as you enter them. If ranges overlap (e.g., '1-5, 3-6'), some pages will appear in multiple output files. The tool does not automatically merge or de-duplicate overlapping ranges.

Will the output files be downloaded separately?

No, to make it easier for you, all the new PDF files generated from the split process are automatically bundled into a single ZIP file for you to download.
